Thornbury Dance

This class will meet 4 times in 2010 to explore archetypes through SoulCollage®, journaling, movement, and group sharing.  With permission from Elizabeth Davis, we'll be using Elizabeth Davis and Carol Leonard's archetypal model for women from their book:  The Circle of Life:  Thirteen Archetypes for Every Woman. 

In Jungian psychology, an archetype is described as an inherited pattern of thought or symbolic imagery derived from the past collective experience and present in the individual unconscious.  Imagine the transformative experience of exploring archetypes within a small, supportive circle of women....sharing our stories, laughter, and discoveries, learning and growing together throughout the year long series!

Session ONE:  Innocence:  Daughter, Maiden, Blood Sister,

Session TWO:  Nurturing:  Lover, Mother, Midwife,

Session THREE:  Power:  Amazon, Matriarch, Priestess,

Session FOUR:  Wisdom:  Sorceress, Crone, Dark Mother

The Center of the Circle:  Transformer  (will be covered in all four sessions)

No previous dance or art experience necessary!
